At the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, we provide the right learning experiences at the right time. Our joyful and time-tested early childhood and elementary school curriculum mirrors children’s development. The Waldorf approach uniquely supports the growth of Preschool and Kindergarten children, while creative, substantive, interdisciplinary academics engage students in First through Eighth Grades.

We’re a small school by design. On an expansive campus, students are immersed in experiential learning, surrounded by warm community, and challenged to become their best selves: intellectually, socially, and emotionally.

Welcome to the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. Come grow with us.

A circle with rings of different textures: tree rings, geometric drawings, rainbow shaded chalk, green knitting and a shell at the center. Around it is a photo of a girl drawing with a ruler, a boy with a beaker, and a little girl in the woods.

A foundation for life

Our curriculum is designed to meet children where they are, at every stage of development, from the wonder of discovery in Early Childhood to the academic depth and burgeoning personal independence of Middle School. Upon entering Ninth Grade, 50% of our graduates attend public magnet schools where the entrance criteria is a test-score minimum of 88% in math and language arts. 25% of our graduates attend independent schools, and 25% attend their local area high school. By integrating the intellectual with the artistic, Waldorf education builds an academic foundation that prepares students for high school, college, and the rest of their lives.

Give your child a lifelong love of learning.

Welcome to the Waldorf School of Philadelphia.

“From the rhythm of the day to the vertical alignment between grades, Waldorf approaches every aspect of a child's experience with an astute understanding of and reverence for child development. The innocence and magic of childhood are protected and honored.

At the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, children develop skills and competencies that prepare them for the future, making them more than college- or career-ready. This holistic approach inspires our children to become truly invested members of their communities and stewards of the earth.”
