Who Makes the Ode to JoyRide Possible
Established in 2013 in memory of Lewis du Pont Smith, the mission of the Ode to JoyRide is to bring the wider community together in support of providing families with financial access to a Waldorf Education.
The 2018 sixth annual Ode to JoyRide is made possible with support from numerous individual volunteers, participants, donors, the Smith Family, and the following lead funders. Thank you for your generous support.

The Ode to Joy Ride is the Waldorf School of Philadelphia's tribute to Lewis duPont Smith.
A lover of the arts, Lewis had a special love for Schiller's poem, Ode to Joy, which also comprises the final movement in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. A renaissance man, Lewis was a passionate student of history, art, music, literature, and philosophy. A teacher, political organizer, and philanthropist, Lewis served on the board of trustees for the Waldorf School of Philadelphia and for Vox Ama Deus.
