We are counting down the days to our move in June with enthusiasm and many hours of planning! 6000 Wayne Avenue is so close to completion with beautifully painted walls that reflect the needs of each program in all of the buildings; floors are in and trim work is shining, each classroom has a new sink with cabinetry, light fixtures compliment the beauty of the spaces, and site work with grading, seeding, and landscaping is coming in May. The building of our new home for 5 kindergartens, parent-tot, and 1st and 2nd grades is also well on track for moving-in day in early August. Below are some images from Waldorf parent and photographer, Kyle Kielinksi, who has been recording the renovation of our new home.
If you are considering our school for your children, please reach out to the admissions director, Alex Borders. While wait lists have developed for some classes, there are still a handful of open spots for others, including Summer:Garten, the most magical and sweetest of camps for children ages 18 months to 6 years of age. Plans are also afoot for Handwork camp and Gardening Camp. Contact Alex for a conversation about enrollment this Fall or for any of our summer camp offerings.
Other exciting news includes the launch of a fundraising campaign to help support the eventual purchase of our amazing new home. Read all about our Double Benefit Campaign here and watch this new film all about our new home. Please consider sharing the film with your friends. It is through the generosity and support of community members like you that we are about to call 6000 Wayne Avenue a home of our own. For a conversation about how to support our efforts, contact development director, Allison Budschalow.
Thank you for reading this blog post and for your interest in The Waldorf School of Philadelphia. We feel blessed by our new home and we could not be more excited. But we know that it is not the place but the people who make a house a home. Thank you for being part of the Philly Waldorf community.
