Find Yourself Here

Finding a school for your child should be enjoyable. Out of that simple notion, we’ve designed an admissions process that focuses on what’s important: time for us to learn about your child and space for you to ask questions about our school and community.

Purpose, Depth, Imagination

Children deserve an education that’s joyful, creative, and substantive. In a vibrant community, committed to inclusion, the Waldorf School of Philadelphia puts purpose, depth, and imagination at the center, enabling students to become critical thinkers and creative problem solvers.

Our innovative approach to liberal arts education teaches the whole child in an academically rich and creative environment. Integrating the arts, sciences, and social-emotional learning; cultivating physical agility through movement; and employing both practical and abstract approaches, the Waldorf School of Philadelphia engages students in learning that’s relevant and connected to their experiences. Our spacious campus lets children explore the natural world every day, supporting and deepening what’s taking place in the classroom.

The Waldorf School of Philadelphia is a Preschool through Eighth Grade independent school, located on a wooded campus in the heart of historic Germantown.

We make Waldorf education accessible through tuition assistance, including scholarships.

Virtual Campus Tour

Take an aerial tour of our beautiful, historic Germantown campus at 6000 Wayne Avenue. Once a Gothic stone church, chapel, rectory, and parish house, our school campus was designed and built in the late 1800s by Frank Furness and George Hewitt.

“The Waldorf School of Philadelphia is exactly what our family has been looking for. We love how they embrace the arts, movement, storytelling, rhythms, and routines. We also love the mixed-age format because our son can learn from older students and, one day, will mentor the little ones. Our school is open, flexible, non-judgmental, and willing to meet parents and students where they are. During the pandemic, they are working tirelessly to provide a safe in-person environment that meets my son's needs: learning, health, and well-being. So grateful we are a part of this community. We couldn't have made a better choice!”
