Associate Degree in Industrial Design, Art Institute of Philadelphia

Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies K – 8, Teacher Preparation Program, Western Governors University

Liz is excited to join the Waldorf School of Philadelphia family. As a third-generation teacher and artist, her pedagogical philosophy was strongly shaped by her parent’s love of education and the arts and their understanding of how the arts and education work together. Her upbringing on a farm in Pennsylvania provided a rich education in practical life-learned skills. On the farm, she developed her reverence of animals, sustainable food production and diversity in our world. Liz’s grandmother taught in one of the last one room classrooms in West Chester, working with children from 1st through 12th grade.

After graduating with a degree in Industrial Design, Liz founded Renaissance Artist Puppet Company. This company provided Artist in Residency programs to schools all over the tri-state area, with the mission to educate children and adults of all ages through the art of Puppetry. This allowed Liz to develop out-of-the-box teaching methods for classroom curriculums for children in grades Pre-K through 12 and as well as for adults. Since moving into the classroom as a lead teacher, Liz has worked with PreK though 12th grade classes.

Liz is grateful to begin her journey with the 2032 graduating class of the Waldorf School of Philadelphia.
