Before coming to the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, Jessica worked in education for 20+ years. She has taught English as a Second/Foreign Language to preschool, school-aged, high school, college, and adult students. She was the founder and executive of The English School, a non-profit English language school for adult ESL learners in central New Jersey. In addition, she has taught pre-service EFL teachers for over 15 years and facilitated groups of educators working on standard-setting studies. Jessica will graduate from Antioch University with a certificate in Waldorf Education in July 2024.
DEIJ work in the classroom and the school community is deeply important to her. “Being willing to grow and learn and continue to do better when I know better is critical to equity and inclusivity in the classroom,” she shares.
Jessica came to Waldorf education through her two children, when she and her husband were seeking a school that would educate the whole child and found Philly Waldorf. Jessica believes that our world needs a healing education that meets each child as the unique person they are. When Jessica is not at school, she is a beginner quilter, an avid reader, a sometimes-successful gardener, and a lover of the outdoors. She has a life goal to thru-hike the Raad ny Foillan on the Isle of Man.
