Between graduating from college and receiving her teaching certificate, Cynthia pursued many interests and held many positions that helped direct her toward her life’s work, which is teaching at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. Cynthia says, “I chose to teach in a Waldorf school because I discovered through life experience that this was the best way I could imagine to be of service to my community.

Cynthia originally comes from Connecticut. She has been a resident of Philadelphia for the past 35 years, and currently lives in the Roxborough/Manayunk neighborhood with her husband of 36 years, Vance. Both of Cynthia's children attended the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, where she is currently leading her third class through the grades.

Cynthia loves to read (mysteries, histories, biographies, historical fiction,

fiction, science fiction, pop science, travelogs), listen to and play music, sing (both individually and chorally), and dance, having taught Scottish Country Dancing for several years.
