BA, Liberal Arts, University of Montevideo, Uruguay

Elena loves to share her passion for learning Spanish with her students, and appreciates how Waldorf education embraces multiple disciplines that nurture children artistically and emotionally, naturally leading them to become independent thinkers.

After moving to the United States 34 years ago, Elena has taught in many schools in the area and started teaching at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia in 2011. She has taken additional courses through the Spanish Teachers’ Association as well as through curriculum workshops for Waldorf Spanish Teachers. In her class, students learn about the diversity of Spanish-speaking countries and cultures through tasting different cuisines and exploring the history, countries, and people of the Spanish-speaking world.

When she is not teaching, Elena loves to travel, knit, and cook.
