Lauren Goodyear

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher, Juniper Tree

BM Syracuse University

Lauren first experienced Waldorf education as a student at River Valley Waldorf in Upper Black Eddy, attending from Kindergarten to 8th grade. River Valley was a nurturing, comfortable and organic space for Lauren growing up, and she loved it so much she decided to continue her Waldorf education at Kimberton Waldorf School for high school. At Kimberton she was captain of the lacrosse team, played lead roles in their musicals, and for her senior project, performed an original set of music with a band she put together in 2018.

This experience of writing, recording and playing her own music led Lauren to pursue a Music Industry degree at Syracuse University, studying voice with a jazz/commercial music concentration. After 4 years Lauren became a fully fledged musician as well as a jazz vocalist, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and earning the Douglas Soyars Music Industry Award for excellence in her field of study.

After college Lauren struggled to find her way in a competitive industry, and worked full-time at a Farmers Market, returning to her comfort space - the outdoors. She is also a Music Teacher with Meridee Winters, teaching piano, voice, guitar and songwriting. Lauren currently resides in Ambler, PA, continues to make music with her students, and now embarks on a new teaching journey as an Early Childhood Assistant to the Juniper Tree Classroom.
