Shira Rudavsky
Second Grade Teacher
MEd, Secondary English Education, Temple University
BA, Art History, University of Pennsylvania
Shira is delighted to join the staff of the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. After teaching in many different kinds of classrooms - Philadelphia public high school, private upper school, a K-1 loop, Reggio-Emilia preschool - she is so happy to find a place where the pedagogy of the entire program is centered on the child’s spirit and development.
Shira grew up in Pittsburgh and has been a Philadelphia resident for over 25 years. She studied Art History and worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and then segued into the School District of Philadelphia as a high school English teacher, and was honored to be named a Teacher of the Year in 2007. She also taught at various private schools, and loves to work with many different ages of students, from preschool through high school. She is currently pursuing her Waldorf Teacher Certification through the Sophia Institute.
Shira loves the warmth and joy she has found at WSP, and feels lucky that her four children are students and graduates of our school.
